These unique splicing spikes are made from Cycolac ABS for splicing twisted fiber ropes ( Manila etc ) . The special spade point makes it easier to separate the strands without tearing the fibers. The hollow handle holds the strands open. This small spike measures 4 1/2 inches and the medium measures 6 inches.
